Student Leadership and Opportunities

Rutgers School of Nursing offers leadership opportunities, including Student Senate and Peer Mentoring. In addition, a number of professional and student organizations are open to students.

Students have many other opportunities to volunteer at community events, represent the school, serve on committees and network with the larger Rutgers community.

Honors Program

The Rutgers School of Nursing undergraduate honors program is available for traditional undergraduate students (Newark and New Brunswick campuses). The honors program is designed to encourage and prepare future nurse scientists and practice scholars. The honors program is a competitive, invitation-only program that immerses high-achieving undergraduate nursing students in cutting-edge scholarship. Once accepted, students will be paired with a faculty member currently engaged in research or scholarly activities, working together until they graduate. The program consists of five semesters (beginning the spring semester of the sophomore year), culminating with a senior year project, which will be presented at the Senior Honors Research Symposium. See the website for more information (Honors Program - Rutgers Nursing).
